Violinist Isabella Sun grew up in Sydney, Australia, where she studied with Fox Chan at the Sydney Conservatorium Rising Stars program, and earned the Victor Cromack and Melba Alma Harris Cromack Memorial Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding performances. She currently studies at the New England Conservatory with Kristopher Tong. In 2019, Sun competed in the 3rd Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians in China. She won first prizes at the American Virtuoso International Competition and at multiple Sydney Eisteddfod competitions. Her accolades also include second prizes at the 2021 International Balys Dvarionas Competition, and the 2022 Strike a Chord National Chamber Competition, as well as third prize at the Chicago Violin Competition. At age 13, Isabella achieved her Licentiate in Music, Australia diploma in violin from the Australian Music Examinations Board, and at 16, earned the Associate in Music, Australia diploma in piano, demonstrating her remarkable versatility as a musician.
