Violinist Xueshan Cheng is a student at Tianjin Juilliard Pre-College program, where she was admitted at age 9 and has since performed several solo recitals. She now studies with Weigang Li and Tzu-Ti Chang, and has also received guidance from Laurie Smukler, Bing Wang, Nancy Zhou, Lan Swenson, Mikyung Lee, and Ke Yin. At age 12, Cheng entered the Tianjin Conservatory of Music Middle School to advance her studies. Cheng is deeply interested in learning about all kinds of music. At Tianjin Juilliard, she has developed a particular passion for chamber music, performing with a range of chamber groups at formal occasions on behalf of the school. This year, she is a member of the Echo String Quartet.
