Jiajing Liang, 15, is a ninth-grader from Cupertino, California, who is currently studying piano with Professor Hans Boepple. He received the 2024–2025 First Year Scholarship from the Chopin Foundation of the United States and was named the 2025 Southwest Division Alternate in the Senior Piano Duet category at the Music Teachers National Association Competition. Liang was named the State Champion in both the Music Teachers’ Association of California Solo Competition and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAMPT) Contemporary Competition, and has won first place in several additional competitions including the KARMA Competition, CAMPT Concerto/Honors Competition, US New Star Contemporary Competition, Marian Filice Youth Piano Competition, and California Music in the Vineyards Solo Competition. In addition to his piano achievements, Liang is also a bassoonist in his school band and his personal reflections on his musical journey earned him medals in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis with friends and reading science-fiction books.
