Artist Bio

Neena Agrawal, viola

Neena Agrawal, 15, is a Scholarship Fellow at the Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago, a pre-college program for advanced string and piano students. She studies viola with Sang Mee Lee and Peter Slowik and is a Fellow of the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative, a scholarship organization for musicians from underrepresented backgrounds. Agrawal made her solo debut with the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest after winning its 2025 Concerto Competition. Other solo appearances include a recital for the Young Steinway Concert series and Evanston’s Martin Luther King Day Celebration. She has participated in master classes and lessons with Antoine Tamestit, Tatjana Masurenko, Masumi Rostad, Paul Laraia, and Caroline Coade. Agrawal served as Principal Viola of the 2024 National Pathways (Equity Arc) Festival Orchestra, currently performs with the Academy Chamber Orchestra as rotating Principal, and serves as Principal of Northside College Prep’s Chamber Strings.
