Artist Bio

Cameron Renshaw, cello

Described by NPR as “so exuberant… a born entertainer,” 13-year-old cellist Cameron Renshaw has received first place or grand prize at numerous international competitions, including the First Great Award at both the Vienna and the Manhattan International Music Competitions. He has performed as a soloist with eight orchestras across the United States and internationally, making his orchestral debut at the age of 8 with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. He has had the honor of performing in some of the world’s greatest concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Mozarteum Salzburg, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Romanian Athenaeum. Renshaw has been featured on local and national media, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2020) as well as NPR’s From the Top (2024) and Tiny Desk (2025). Renshaw takes private lessons at Grand Valley State University and attends University of Michigan Pre-College Program. He held the Principal Chair position at Grand Rapids Youth Symphony and Michigan Youth Philharmonia Orchestra.
