Yikai Guo is currently studying at the Tianjin Juilliard School Pre-College division under Professor Yeonjin Kim. In 2023, he won the school’s High School String Ensemble Concerto Competition, and is currently the Principal Cellist in the Pre-College Orchestra. In 2024, Guo played as the Principal Cellist in the Brevard Concert Orchestra and was a finalist in the Brevard Music Center’s Jan and Beatle Wood Concerto Competition. He has participated in a number of music festivals, including: Brevard Music Center Summer Festival, Cello’s Family Cello Festival, Qingdao Cello Festival, and Namhae International Cello Festival. He participated in master classes with Li-Wei Qin, Ronald Leonard, Kangho Lee, and Richard Aaron, and James Baik, Jian Wang, Natasha Brofsky, Jiwu Li, and Amos Young. Guo is now studying with his piano trio under Professor Andrew Tyson. The trio has participated in master classes with Mark Kaplan, Chih-Yi Chen, and Shanghai Quartet.
