Pianist Bo Zhang is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at The Juilliard School. He is the 2023 winner of the Juilliard Mozart piano concerto competition, as well as the first prize winner of both the 2017 Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition and the 2017 Lang Lang Shenzhen Futian International Piano Competition. Born in Zhejiang, China, Zhang began his piano studies at the age of 5 and gave his first public performance the following year. He received the Young Music Talents Scholarship at 5 years old, presented by the renowned violinist, Zhou Qian.
At the age of 12, Bo gave his debut recital in Beijing. Since then, he has been invited to perform as a soloist in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, New York, Cleveland, Moscow, and Palma, among other cities. He has performed in multiple festivals including Bowdoin music festival, PianoTexas, and Pianofest in the Hamptons. He studied at the Beijing and Shanghai Conservatories with Dan Shao, Hongbo Quan, and Zhe Tang. Since 2019, he has been studying at The Juilliard School in the studios of Matti Raekallio, Emanuel Ax, and Shai Wosner.
