Violinist Tianyou Ma has won top prizes at the Barbash Bach Competition, Singapore International Violin Competition (also receiving the Bach Prize), Sendai International Music Competition, Menuhin International Violin Competition (also awarded the Bach Prize), and the Postacchini
Competition.
As a soloist, he has performed with renowned orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, and Webern Kammerphilharmonie. His performances have taken him across Europe, Asia, the U.S., and Australia, both as a soloist and chamber musician.
Tianyou studied at The Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK and completed his undergraduate degree at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he won the Milka Violin Artist Prize and was chosen to deliver the 2023 commencement speech. He is now pursuing his master’s degree at Juilliard as a Kovner Fellowship student under Catherine Cho. He has also attended prestigious festivals such as the Verbier Festival Academy, Gstaad and Four Seasons Spring Workshop.
