Camden M. Archambeau is a cellist and conductor based in New York City. Recent appearances include concerts at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Neue Galerie, Dumbarton Oaks, and the St. Botolph Club. Passionate about creative programming, Camden has presented recital series at the Signet Society and the Metropolitan Opera Club. In the 2023–24 season, he served as Artist-in-Residence in Lowell House and received the St. Botolph Club Emerging Artist Award and the Robert Levin Prize from Harvard College for his work as a cellist and conductor.
His extensive background in chamber music includes residencies at the Stauffer Center, Perlman Chamber Music Workshop and Suncoast Program, and Bowdoin Festival Fellowship Program. Camden has served as Principal Cellist of the New York String Orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, and New York Youth Symphony. He has appeared in masterclasses with Franz Helmerson, Zvi Plesser, Steven Doane, Johannes Moser, and Hans Jensen.
Since 2022, Camden has been an assistant conductor and chamber music coach at Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. He holds a degree in History and German from Harvard and previously studied with Paul Katz, Sieun Lin, and Adam Grabois. He studies with David Finckel and Joel Krosnick at the Juilliard School.
